Over the last 20 years I've photographed hockey face-offs and soccer goals, prom pre-parties and butterfly swim strokes, the first tooth and the first girlfriend, vacations around the world and special moments here at home. I captured what every parent wants—memories of our children growing up. Along the way, I started photographing you. Your trust and confidence in me has fostered a genuine passion for creative portrait photography and helped me grow a successful business.
My business has evolved over the years but one thing remains constant—I love being behind the camera. Everyone has a story and it’s a challenge and honor to capture it through photos. The two photo opportunities I enjoy most are the individual portrait session and a day in the life. Individual sessions allow me to connect emotionally with a single person and create a session that reflects your authentic personality and special time in your life. A day in the life, on the other hand, captures the typical, normal daily life of a busy family. Different in many ways, yet the processes and results are fabulous, fun, and so incredibly interesting.
I was raised in National Parks, which means no matter how far I wander into the city and suburbs, home is always atop a mountain or on a faraway trail. I love hiking and traveling, drinking wine and making soup, talking with girlfriends and cuddling with my cat. If there were more time in my day I would write. I’m mom to two children—my daughter just graduated from Colorado State University and is a first grade teacher in Denver, and my son is a Junior at Monte Vista High School. When I'm not photographing families or at my computer learning something new, I'm exploring quiet places in nature and discovering new ways of life.
When I grow up I want to travel the planet and photograph and write about the women I meet. Until then, I’m enjoying the moms and daughters and sisters and all who they bring along to capture their uniqueness.
Call me—I’d love to photograph you!

My Style
Two things that fascinate me are the outdoors and light. I love sunrises and sunsets and everything in between that the sun touches. The result of these two passions is my studio—any place outdoors with interesting light and texture. Urban settings, bright open fields, old stone buildings, and bridges are some of my favorites. My style is fresh and simple and my designs more contemporary. I have a natural eye for composition and a determination to capture your specific style. I love trying new stuff!
Investment
A significant value I provide is understanding what you’re looking for in a photo and getting to know you well enough to determine the location and type of session that best compliments your style. Are you looking for a unique setting? Do you just need a draped photo of your senior? Do you want to add in a quick family photo at the end of your senior session? Do you need a headshot for LinkedIn? Through this process of listening to your objectives and sharing my ideas and experiences, we customize a photo session that best meets your needs.
Fees for photo sessions are based on several factors, including the location(s), number of people in the photo, type and number of desired outfit changes, requests for unique poses, travel time, etc.
A typical individual senior session in the San Ramon Valley is $650. This session generally runs 90 minutes, which is sufficient time for three to four clothing changes and a variety of poses against different backgrounds in a single location. I never rush...I take the time necessary to get you comfortable and to capture all the shots. The session includes approximately 35 photo proofs in a private gallery on my website where you may review images, identify favorites, and order products. I offer a photo review and ordering session either in my home studio or in your home to show full-resolution images and present sample products to help you determine the best way to display your photos. Your session fee includes a credit towards the purchase of prints and products.
I welcome the opportunity to photograph more of you in longer sessions, more outfits and poses, and different locations. Please call to discuss your preferences so we can create a session that works for you. Travel time and expenses apply to locations outside the San Ramon Valley, e.g., Piedmont, Treasure Island, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, etc.
Individual headshot sessions are available in my home studio or in a local outdoor session. My fees start at $250 and include a single pose in one outfit and two full-resolution jpeg digital images (one color and one black and white). I offer additional poses (e.g., informal and business attire), sessions at your office or a location of your choice, and design work (e.g., green screen cutouts for website, etc.) upon request.
For special events and group sessions, I'm happy to work with you to design a package more carefully tailored to fit your needs. My fees for Photoshop and custom design work start at $150/hour.
I offer a wide selection of photo sizes and products, ranging from wallets to holiday cards, large framed canvases, gallery blocks, and standouts. Prices for my most popular products are listed individually under each proof in the client galleries. Custom services and products, such as graduation announcements and holiday cards, are presented under Services. If you’re interested in something that you do not see in your gallery or under Services, please let me know and I’ll add it for ordering or contact you with more information. Sales tax and shipping charges are added at Checkout.
I request two weeks from the time orders are placed to print your photographs. Canvases and special-order products require additional time.
